RallyPoint Launches Community to Empower Military Careers

Heralded as "LinkedIn for the Military," RallyPoint Promises to Help US Military Take Control of Their Careers, Inside and Outside of Service

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - Nov 12, 2012) - RallyPoint, an online professional network that empowers U.S. military members to take greater control over their own careers, today launched its service to active U.S. military populations. RallyPoint was previously available to a test community of 500 select users.

RallyPoint launched its service on Veterans Day in acknowledgement of the service and sacrifice of U.S. service men and women, and as a symbol of its founders' deep personal commitment to empowering this community.

Founded by Iraq War veterans who met first on the battlefield and reunited at Harvard Business School, RallyPoint recently took first place in MassChallenge against a field of 1200 new ventures from 35 countries (see related news: "RallyPoint Wins World's Largest Start-up Competition" http://tinyurl.com/atg6l9z).

"The U.S. Military is the best training ground in the world for building the skills, discipline, and values required to solve complex and difficult challenges," said Yinon Weiss, co-founder and CEO of RallyPoint. "But this training doesn't teach service members the importance of professional networking, both inside and outside of the military. RallyPoint is a purpose-built community designed explicitly for service members to take control of their careers."

Communities like LinkedIn have transformed networking, recruiting, and job searches for private sector professionals, but they haven't successfully penetrated the military ranks. This is because service members strongly prefer a military-only community that supports their unique needs and connects them in a way that is meaningful to their military careers.

"I'm very excited about what RallyPoint can do for our service members because professional networking is a skill set that many of our military members don't cultivate," said (Ret) US Army General George Casey, a RallyPoint advisor. "Networking creates opportunities and improves one's professional development. I especially see how important it is now that I am retired, and I believe RallyPoint can significantly empower our service members with the professional networking platform they need to take greater control of their careers."

RallyPoint is available now as a free service for active and reserve military personnel. Service members can sign up, create their profiles, and begin building their professional networks at www.rallypoint.com
