Sage Sponsors Laughs at the Seventh Annual Search for the South's Funniest Accountant Event

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - Nov 15, 2012) - This is a laughing matter. Sage is serving as a supporting sponsor of Accountants One's Seventh Annual Search for the South's Funniest Accountant, where a winner will be announced tonight at 8 p.m. at the CW Midtown's Center Stage. This year's event will see the biggest crowd to date and promises plenty of giggles as nine of the South's funniest financial professionals battle it out on stage for the title of "the South's Funniest Accountant." 

Proceeds from tonight's event will benefit Junior Achievement of Georgia (www.georgia.ja.org), an organization that partners with businesses and educators to bring the real world to students. This year, $25,000 was raised, the largest amount in the event's history.

"People tend to think accountants don't have a sense of humor, but we know better. We talk to accountants every day here at Sage. They're actually some of the funniest people I know, and this event proves it," said Jennifer Warawa, vice president of Partner Programs and Channel Sales. "What makes this event even better is that we are supporting Junior Achievement of Georgia. This organization has touched many people's lives in our community, and it's a great feeling to give back to them tonight."

Judges narrowed down a contestant pool from 25 to nine finalists. These lucky finalists participated in two "comedy boot camps" in October to hone their routines. The overall winner -- who will be announced live at tonight's event -- will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Las Vegas, the perfect comedy entertainment destination. Tonight's attendees will be treated to a performance by the 2010 South's Funniest Accountant, Mike Haun.
