Concurrent Technologies Corporation Recognized as a Top 100 Research and Development Federal Contractor by Centurion Research Solutions

JOHNSTOWN, Pa., Aug. 14, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) has been recognized as one of Centurion Research Solutions' Fiscal Year 2012 (FY12) Top 100 Research and Development (R &D) Federal Contractors. According to Centurion, CTC was among more than 6,900 unique vendors who collectively had more than $52 billion in R &D contract activity. CTC ranked in the 54th spot on the list.

Centurion Research Solutions is a business intelligence and analytics company. This is the first year Centurion released lists of the Top 100 Federal Contractors in seven different industries. Those industries are:  Operations & Maintenance, Architecture & Engineering, Construction, Education & Training, Healthcare, Research & Development, and Support.

In the R &D category, the companies identify, provide and implement new or significantly improved products or processes. This includes development of new equipment, weapons, vehicles, vaccines, and more. Centurion identified the Top 100 R &D Federal Contractors based on 542 unique Product Service Codes (PSC), which are used to describe products, services, and R &D purchased by the federal government.

One example of CTC's R &D prowess can be seen through the Advanced Robotic Laser Coating Removal System (ARLCRS) that was developed as part of the ongoing, CTC-led U.S. Air Force Laser Coating Removal Program. The ARLCRS has received the 2013 Gold Edison Award in the Material Science Category while the program itself has been awarded the 2011 Society of Automotive Engineers' Environmental Excellence in Transportation Award, and the Environmental Security Technology Certification Program Project of the Year Award in 2009 and 2005.
