Hino Hosts High-Efficiency Truck Ride & Drive Leading U.S. Transportation & Environment Policy Maker to Keynote National High-Efficiency Truck Meeting in Chicago

Event Features First-Ever MPG Challenge, a Fun Contest for Fleet Drivers to Compete at "Hyper-Miling" Skills at Soldier Field "Race Track"

PASADENA, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 25, 2013) - The nation's largest event focused on the high-efficiency truck and bus sector will feature a keynote address by the U.S. EPA's leading transportation and air quality policymaker -- Christopher Grundler. In addition to talks by leading fleet directors and advanced technology developers, the national gathering in Chicago (Oct. 7-9) will also feature a chance for fleet drivers to determine who can be the most efficient in a Ride & Drive at Soldier Field.

Grundler, Director of the Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ), U.S. EPA, will speak to the important national need for increasing efficiency and lower emissions in the heavy-duty vehicle sector. In coordination with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the U.S. EPA is beginning to prepare plans now for a second round of greenhouse gas emission standards for the heavy-duty sector starting in 2019.

The 2013 National High-Efficiency Truck Users Forum (HTUF) Meeting will be the 12th such annual event. It is the primary national event for fleets, manufacturers, suppliers, policymakers, and non-governmental organizations interested in the potential for higher-efficiency trucks and buses.

Other leading industry speakers at the 2013 HTUF National Meeting will be:

  • George Survant, Senior Fleet Director, Time Warner Cable
  • Mike Britt, Director of Maintenance and Engineering, UPS
  • Mike O'Connell, Sr. Director, Fleet Supply Chain, FritoLay
