NASHVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 7, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Butler Snow LLP (Butler Snow) is pleased to announce that John T. Herzog has joined the firm's Nashville office.
Herzog is a member of the Government Relations Group and will focus on providing government relations, public policy and strategy for both corporate and association clients at a federal and state level.

Herzog joins Butler Snow after spending the last decade in Washington, D.C. where he most recently worked as the vice president of government affairs & political strategy for Jeffrey J. Kimbell & Associates. In this role, Herzog led the firm's outreach to the U.S. Senate, where he provided legislative, public policy, regulatory and reimbursement solutions to clients in the life sciences sector, including medical devices, pharmaceutical biotechnology, provider services, and biodefense.
Prior to joining Kimbell & Associates, Herzog was a federal lobbyist with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), where he advocated the company's position on a wide range of health policy issues. Prior to GSK, Herzog spent more than two years in the White House Office of Legislative Affairs as a liaison between the president and Congress during the George W. Bush Administration. Herzog began his career in Washington where he served as the health policy aide to U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.). Herzog graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi with a degree in psychology and chemistry.
