GetWellNetwork CIO David Muntz to Deliver Keynote Address at DoD/VA Healthcare 2014 Summit on May 19

Conference to Feature Case Studies and Best Practices on the Latest Military and Veteran Health Care Research and Development

BETHESDA, MD--(Marketwired - May 13, 2014) - GetWellNetwork®, Inc., the leader in Interactive Patient Care™ (IPC) solutions, today announced that Chief Information Officer David Muntz will deliver the keynote address at this year's DoD/VA Healthcare Summit in San Antonio, Texas, on May 19. The conference provides a forum for various military branches and their U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) counterparts to discuss best practices for the treatment of patients and to exchange ideas with industry leaders.

DoD/VA Healthcare 2014, which takes place at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center May 19-21, will focus on four key areas of military and veteran health care: increased patient connectivity, continuum of care, aftermath of battle and definitive treatments of PTSD. The conference will also take a look at the future of health care for servicemen and women and veterans.

"GetWellNetwork is genuinely committed to the Armed Forces community, which includes the military, veterans and their families," said David Muntz, the proud father of two members of the Air Force, and grandfather of another. David was the first principal deputy national coordinator and chief of staff of the Office of the National Coordinator on Health Information Technology (ONC).

Delivered on mobile devices, PCs and TVs and deployed in 38 VA medical centers around the country, GetWellNetwork engages patients and their families across the care continuum. Evidence-based data demonstrate that GetWellNetwork clients are using IPC to dramatically improve patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes and financial results.

"We are excited to have Mr. Muntz keynoting this year's DoD/VA Healthcare event," said Megan Andrews, event director at the Institute for Defense & Government Advancement (IDGA). "At a time when IT is one of the most important topics in health care, his perspective is a highly valued contribution to the program."
