Top Defense Leadership to Address Attendees at 2015 Women in Defense (WID) National Dinner and Conference


ARLINGTON, Va., March 3, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The 2015 Women in Defense (WID) National Dinner and Conference will take place March 10th and 11th in Arlington, VA. The dinner will be held on March 10th at the Crystal City Marriott and the Conference on March 11th at Lockheed Martin in Crystal City.

Lt Gen Ellen Pawlikowski, USAF, Military Deputy, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition will be the guest speaker at The 2015 Women in Defense (WID) National Dinner on March 10th at the Crystal City Marriott. Lt Gen. Ellen Pawlikowski has been recommended for promotion to the rank of general by President Barack Obama and has been nominated by the President to serve as the next Air Force Materiel Command commander. The dinner will be an opportunity to honor and recognize this year's HORIZONS Scholarship Award Winners. The HORIZONS Scholarship Program encourages women to pursue careers related to U.S. national security and defense and to provide development opportunities to women already working in these fields. Since 1990, HORIZONS has made 125 awards of over $268,000. The Women In Defense National Conference will commence at 8 a.m on March 11th with keynote remarks by Rear Admiral Elizabeth Train, USN, Director, National Maritime Intelligence-Integration Office, Commander, Office of Naval Intelligence. The remaining day's agenda includes several notable and recognizable officials and senior leaders including:
