Kessler Foundation Recognized as One of the 2015 Best U.S. Nonprofits and Best Places to Work in N.J.


WEST ORANGE, N.J., April 13, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kessler Foundation has been named one of the Best U.S. Nonprofits to Work For by The NonProfit Times and one of the Best Places to Work in New Jersey by NJBIZ.

Kessler Foundation has two locations in West Orange, N.J. A major nonprofit, the Foundation conducts rehabilitation research to improve the mobility and cognition of individuals with multiple sclerosis, stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and other disabling conditions. Kessler Foundation is home to a unique research-dedicated neuroimaging center. The Rocco Ortenzio Neuroimaging Center at Kessler Foundation enables scientists to conduct novel lines of research and accelerate the pace of their scientific advances. In addition, Kessler Foundation awards grants to innovative initiatives across the nation that expand employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
 
Kessler Foundation moved up in the Best Nonprofits ranking from last year—from number 23 overall to 12, and in the medium category (50-249 employees), from 9th to 4th. To be considered, organizations provided information on employment practices and benefits. Employees submitted an anonymous survey to assess their organization's leadership, corporate culture and communications, work environment, supervision, training and development, compensation and employee engagement and satisfaction.

The Foundation was named one of the Best Places to Work in New Jersey in the medium category (15-249 employees). The NJBIZ award honors the employers that benefit the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. Companies entered a two-part process to determine the 100 Best Places to Work in New Jersey—an evaluation of workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics and an employee survey.
