WOODLAND PARK, N.J., May 19, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- For the second consecutive year, Berkeley College has been ranked among the Best Online Bachelor's Programs for Veterans by U.S. News & World Report. Berkeley College was one of 10 colleges in New York and one of two in New Jersey to receive the distinction.

According to U.S. News & World Report, "to ensure academic quality, all schools included in these rankings first have to be ranked among the top 75 percent of schools in U.S. News & World Report's 2015 Best Online Programs rankings, which were published in January 2015." Berkeley College is number 78 among 737 online degree programs reviewed.
The Berkeley College Office of Military and Veterans Affairs provides support to its veteran students through five on-site veterans resource centers (VRCs) in New Jersey and New York, as well as through an Online VRC. At the VRCs, military students can meet with staff, network with their peers, and learn about Veterans Administration benefits. This week, the College will hold Memorial Day ceremonies in conjunction with the opening of its sixth VRC at its Woodbridge location.
In April, more than 50 employers visited Berkeley College in Woodland Park with the goal of helping veterans and their families develop career skills and find employment. The Spring Veterans Career Expo was co-hosted with Be A Hero – Hire A Hero, an initiative that focuses on assisting veterans with the transition to civilian life. Also in April, the College hosted a Veterans Gala to celebrate the 120 military graduates who were part of the Class of 2015. At the Gala, the College also screened the third installment of the Veterans History Project, an initiative of the Library of Congress, and announced the Berkeley Reflections Project, a photo essay of American servicemembers.
