Zagster and Irvine Company Partner for Bike Sharing Program

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 22, 2015) - Zagster, the leading provider of bike sharing programs for the real estate industry, has partnered with Irvine Company, a master planner of residential, office, retail and resort communities, to provide a bike sharing program for residents of three apartment communities in Irvine and customers at an office project in the Irvine Spectrum.

The multi-property deal includes a total of 60 cruiser-style bikes that will be available to residents of The Park, Los Olivos and Park Place apartment communities and customers at the Discover Business Center in Irvine by the hour or the day, giving them a convenient, healthy and fun way to get around.

All bikes will be available to all registered users free of charge for up to a 2-hour period, with a minimal fee thereafter.

"Zagster is a perfect fit for Irvine Company's properties given the bike-friendly climate, a rider base focused on healthy living, and a corporate culture dedicated to sustainability," said Timothy Ericson, co-founder and CEO of Zagster. "With Zagster on site, getting out and enjoying the day is as simple as swiping a phone or sending a text to unlock the bike and send you on your way."

To use Zagster's mobile app, riders simply enter the unique ID of the bike they wish to use and an access code for the lock box is provided. Alternatively, they can text the bike ID and receive the code in return. Riders can use the code throughout the duration of their rental to lock and unlock the bike anywhere along their trip. Once the bike is returned to the initial Zagster location, the touch of a button ends the rental and releases the bike for the next rider.

Zagster is developing a national footprint of bike sharing programs in partnership with real estate/multi-family companies, businesses, hotel chains and universities, all of whom are looking to provide value added services and benefits to residents, guests or area employees. Currently, Zagster has hundreds of bikes deployed in more than 30 cities and towns in more than 20 states with thousands of members having taken tens of thousands of rides. No other bike share provider has as many partnerships with real estate companies as Zagster.
