Butler Snow Expands to Texas with the Addition of Sosland, Davis and Luzarraga


RIDGELAND, Miss., May 17, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Butler Snow has expanded into Texas with the addition of Martin A. Sosland, Gary W. Davis and José M. Luzarraga. Sosland will practice in the bankruptcy and restructuring group in Dallas; Davis and Luzarraga will practice with the firm’s product liability group in Austin and Dallas respectively.

Sosland – a stalwart in Texas legal circles who enhances the firm’s bankruptcy presence nationally – has vast experience practicing in the areas of business reorganizations, debtor and creditors’ rights and refinancing and acquisitions of troubled companies. During his more than 30-year career, he has represented a variety of major debtors in high-profile Chapter 11 cases, numerous class-action product liability settlements and statutory creditor representation with an assortment of major financial institutions and restructurings.

Sosland is a member of the Dallas and American Bar Associations and the American Bankruptcy Institute. He has been recognized by Chambers USA, Chamber Global, Who’s Who Legal and Best Lawyers, among other publications. Sosland received his undergraduate degree from Rice University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas.

Davis is a first chair trial lawyer with experience and expertise in product liability litigation and commercial litigation, focusing on the motor vehicles, aviation, medical equipment, agricultural, construction and industrial equipment industries. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers and Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. Davis is admitted to practice in Texas and Colorado. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas and his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas. Davis is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel.

Luzarraga is also a first chair trial lawyer in product liability and personal injury cases involving automotive companies, consumer product manufacturers, trace benzene and asbestos litigation as well as commercial litigation involving contract disputes, consumer claims, and professional liability. He is a member of the Hispanic National Bar Association, the Dallas Bar Association and was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star. Luzarraga received a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and a Juris Doctor from Columbia University School of Law.
