Kinetic Request CE Inspires Launch of Solution Development Contest at Kinetic Data's Annual User Conference: KEG 2016

"Virtual Hackathon" Lets Developers Download and Innovate on the Latest Release of Its Flagship Low-Code Platform

ST. PAUL, MN--(Marketwired - May 18, 2016) -   Kinetic Data is celebrating the fifth anniversary of its Kinetic Enthusiast Group (KEG) with training tracks, networking, awards and activities -- and for the first time -- a Virtual Hackathon. The company's first annual software development contest encourages developers to create innovative solutions using Kinetic Request CE (core edition), based on a pre-determined theme. Kinetic Data welcomed attendees to the week-long conference on Sunday, May 15, at the historic Depot Hotel on the beautiful riverfront district in Minneapolis.

Every year KEG brings together enterprise developers and managers from the private and public sectors to see what's new in cloud management, automation, low-code platforms, customer experience and how Kinetic Data products can help their organizations refine and manage business processes.

Kinetic Data's Director of Products, Kelly Heikkila, explained, "Organizations are looking for the ability to create solutions faster, without developing from the ground up, which can be slow and expensive." Kinetic Request CE focuses on reusable integrations, processes, and drag-and-drop form building, freeing up scarce development resources to tackle other pressing priorities.

The Virtual Hackathon was born from momentum Kinetic Data is observing with the latest version of Kinetic Request, it's widely-adopted low-code platform often used to create enterprise request management (ERM) solutions. This new version removes many of the barriers to entry, giving developers and businesses the ability to quickly create solutions that address unique business process challenges.

"We believe in the power of individuals to make a difference in an organization," said Kinetic Data President John Sundberg. "Kinetic Request CE inspired the Virtual Hackathon because we're seeing developers get really creative with our platform. The one-week timeframe of the contest is a testament to the simplicity of the software's development capabilities while replicating real-world turnaround times." Sundberg, an entrepreneur and co-founder of Kinetic Data, started out as a developer. His first product was a mountain bike video game he developed for Activision.

KEG attendees will have ample opportunity to experiment with Kinetic Request CE before the Virtual Hackathon kicks off on Friday, June 17, 2016, when Kinetic Data will announce the theme for this quarter with a set of simple requirements and guidelines. Developers are invited to download Kinetic Request CE at no cost, experiment and pre-register at http://developer.kineticdata.com. Pre-registrants will receive an email with the topic and requirements four hours before the information is published online. The contest closes on Friday, June 24th, 2016 at 5pm CDT. Once a developer has completed their solution they simply upload it to a designated website. Prizes will be awarded to four winning submissions. Official full contest rules will be posted on the site prior to June 17.
