HighPoint Funds Autism Respite Care Program Into Its 4th Year

Indianapolis, IN, May 24, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- HighPoint Global®, the citizen experience companyTM, announced today that it has donated over $125,000 to support the Autism Society of Indiana’s (ASI) respite care program for the fourth year in a row. To date, HighPoint has donated over a half a million dollars to the program, which supports more than 60 families. Since the program launched in 2014, HighPoint has been the sole sponsor of the program.

The respite program provides a way for caregivers to get a needed break from their day-to-day duties and provide a safe and nurturing environment for those with autism. The program has been successful at providing essential care to children with autism through proper caregiver pairing but has also been an avenue for families to connect through numerous playdates and outings. The program recently began providing respite care through the Indiana Medicaid Waiver and Caregiver Supports and looks to expand to various Indiana counties.

“When we started supporting ASI, our goal was to help a few families affected by autism,” said CEO Ben Lanius. “Now, four years later, we see how the program has grown and how many families are touched by the organization’s services and outreach. I am inspired everyday by the impact of ASI’s programs and glad that HighPoint can play a small part in its success.”

“It is humbling to be able to provide respite care to families who are otherwise unable to receive these services due to lack of funding or other resources,” said Dana Renay, Chief Executive Ally of the Autism Society of Indiana.  “We know these families and we can see the relief they get knowing there is someone who understands how to care for a child with autism. They can truly get a break and recharge.”
