MatrixCare CareAssist Achieves Omnicare Certification

Next-Generation Nursing Platform Introduces Pharmacy-Centric Order Entry

BLOOMINGTON, Minn., June 07, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MatrixCare, the largest and highest ranked long-term, post-acute care (LTPAC) technology provider in the US, has been certified to engage in pharmacy-centric order entry integration with both the OASIS and OmniDX software platforms of Omnicare, a CVSHealth company. MatrixCare’s next-generation CareAssist nursing platform combines Point-of-Care and eMAR functionality to help streamline workflows while improving documentation for frontline caregivers in LTPAC communities. CareAssist is device-independent, allowing operators to choose their preferred devices and deployment models and also serves as MatrixCare’s vehicle for the introduction of voice activation and location-based services.

After extensive field testing, MatrixCare has shown that CareAssist successfully communicates with both Omnicare software platforms in a pharmacy-centric order entry configuration. With this integration, MatrixCare CareAssist dramatically decreases data entry time and improves order accuracy, increases caregiver efficiency, and enhances medication safety for LTPAC communities who utilize Omnicare pharmacies and software.

“MatrixCare’s mission and primary focus is to leverage technology to improve the quality of life for seniors. Effective medication management is a critical component of this. This hard-earned certification, along with our many successful pilot implementations, demonstrates that CareAssist makes a real difference in the lives of LTPAC residents and those who care for them,” said MatrixCare’s President & CEO John Damgaard.

MatrixCare is leading the way in driving interoperability across the LTPAC spectrum of care. MatrixCare technology, including the recently released CareCommunity™ care coordination and population health management platform, is built on an open architecture to easily facilitate healthcare information exchange with authorized external parties. It’s this commitment to interoperability that makes integration with systems such as Omnicare’s possible and one of the reasons MatrixCare has been ranked Best in KLAS by its users in the Long-Term Care software category.
