Kokomo, Indiana, June 15, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The U.S. Department of the Air Force, Air Force Reserve Command, released on Thursday, June 15 a solicitation in which it outlined plans to bring on a small business contractor to renovate Building 667 on Grissom Air Reserve Base in Indiana.
The contractor who receives the contract must be a certified small business, and also must provide the materials, engineering, labor, supervision, and inspection required to renovate Building 667.
According to the solicitation, the scope of the project includes, but is not limited to:
- Upgrading communications, mass notifications, alarms, and emergency lighting to comply with applicable codes
- Upgrading HVAC, plumbing, restroom fixtures, electrical wiring, and lighting to comply with current energy standards
- Upgrading parking, sidewalks, curbs, and ramps to comply with applicable handicap access standards
- Replacing floor, wall, and ceilings
The contractor has 270 calendar days from the day the contract is signed to complete the project, with no designated winter exclusion period. The Air Force also in its solicitation indicated that it expects the renovation to cost between $1 million and $5 million.
The relevant NAICS Code is 236220, with a small business size standard of $36.5 million.

The contractor who receives this contract also must be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM) database and have as part of the Registration all current Representations and Certifications.
