VA to Replace Concrete Curb at Santa Fe National Cemetery

Invites SDVOSBs to Submit Information

Santa Fe, New Mexico, Aug. 24, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) on Thursday, August 24 released a sources sought notice in which it invited certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) owners to submit information about their ability to replace a concrete curb at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Ultimately, according to the sources sought notice, the VA will award a one-time, firm fixed-price contract. 

The SDVOSB contractor who receives the contract must furnish all materials, equipment, labor, and supervision necessary to replace approximately 200 lf of rolled concrete curb at Santa Fe National Cemetery, within 60 days or less of receiving a notice to proceed. 

The VA anticipates the work to include:

  • Saw cutting existing asphalt paving to accommodate forms for new curb
  • Demolishing, removing, and disposing of concrete curb off site
  • Forming and pouring new 6-roll curb
  • Patching existing asphalt as required 

The relevant NAICS Code is 237310, Highway, Street and Bridge Construction, and the Small Business Administration (SBA) size standard is $36.5 million. 

Interested and capable SDVOSB contractors must email Contract Specialist T. Velvet Abercrumbie at by no later than 3 p.m. EST on August 29 the following information: 

  • A positive statement of interest in submitting a quote based on the general scope of work description
  • A capability statement that describes firm’s in-house capability to accomplish the summarized project scope/goal
  • Small business certification (SDVOSB or VOSB) and if firm is currently certified by the Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Veterans Enterprise (CVE) based upon North American Industry Classification System code 237990 - Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction
  • Firm's name, address, DUNS and CAGE numbers, and primary point of contact, including telephone number(s) and e-mail address
  • Information about three most relative, recent projects:
    • Contracting agency address and contracting officer’s name, e-mail address and telephone number
    • Contract Number, date, amount of award, and date of completion
    • If company was prime or a subcontractor, and if subcontractor, the prime company’s business name, address, e-mail address, and telephone number, as well as the name, e-mail address, and telephone number of a contact person
    • Describe items/services provided under the contract
    • Information about performance issues under the contract (if any) that resulted in the contracting officer issuing a Cure Notice or Show Cause Notice
