Konica Minolta Healthcare Awarded Healthcare IT Agreement for Exa with Premier

WAYNE, N.J., Nov. 07, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas, Inc. has been awarded a group purchasing agreement for healthcare information technology (IT) with Premier. Effective January 1, 2018, the new three-year agreement allows Premier members, in both acute and non-acute settings, to take advantage of special pricing and terms pre-negotiated by Premier for Exa™, one of the most advanced healthcare IT platforms available on the market.

“The selection of Konica Minolta Healthcare by Premier as a supplier of healthcare IT solutions is an exciting opportunity and proud moment for our organization,” says Steve Deaton, President of Konica Minolta HCIT. “It demonstrates the value that providers are placing on solutions from innovative companies like Konica Minolta that continue to evolve and invest in advanced technologies. Exa is on the forefront of this paradigm shift using functionality like Server-Side Rendering and Diagnostic Zero Footprint viewing with a completely modular platform allowing for both a complete Enterprise Imaging solution as well as components to complement existing infrastructure.”

Exa’s custom workflow engine design and advanced toolsets make it an ideal solution across a broad array of imaging services—from the enterprise to specialty based clinics. The Exa platform is comprised of multiple modules including PACS, RIS, EHR and specialty viewers, supporting digital breast tomosynthesis and cardiovascular imaging. The Exa modules can be used together as an integrated solution or individually with a facilities existing software investments.  It offers a diagnostic-quality Zero Footprint Universal Viewer and vendor neutral archive for DICOM and non-DICOM images; Server-Side Rendering for fast access to large files, such as 3D Mammography, with no prefetching required; and cybersecurity with no data transferred to or stored on workstations to minimize unwanted exposure to patient data. The Exa platform was designed to enable each site to design its own preferred imaging workflow, very simply, with drag and drop tools. The entire step-by-step process can be customized quickly and easily.

Exa also facilitates the sharing of multispecialty medical images and reports via referring physician, patient, and attorney portals while also enabling outside facilities to safely access pertinent patient data via Image Exchange, which eliminates the need for sending or bringing image CDs. Exa’s custom workflow engine design and reporting dashboard set the product apart from competitors. With the Performance Dashboards, facilities can measure daily exam volume, radiologist performance, and referring physicians ordering preferences. Administrators and department managers can easily create their own customized reports to efficiently get the data that is most relevant for their practice or organization.
