New York eHealth Collaborative Selects HealthEC to Provide MIPS Reporting through its Qualified Clinical Data Registry Services

PISCATAWAY, N.J., Dec. 12, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- HealthEC today announced that it has been selected by the New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC) to customize its Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) reporting service to support both individual clinicians and provider groups. The new MIPS service will help providers across the state of New York focus on quality, improve the health of patients, and facilitate reporting to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) through HealthEC’s Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR).

MIPS, a component of the new Quality Payment Program (QPP) under the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA), represents a shift within the healthcare payment system - basing provider compensation on value rather than volume (fee-for-service). MIPS reporting reflects a clinician’s quality performance, resource use and commitment to clinical practice improvement activities. Their MIPS scores determine if they receive a positive, neutral, or negative adjustment in Medicare payments.

“We look forward to working with HealthEC to enable a robust, user-friendly MIPS reporting tool to support our reporting services designed to help healthcare providers meet the requirements of CMS’s Quality Payment Program,” said Valerie Grey, NYeC’s Executive Director. “We’re proud to continue to serve as one of New York State’s leading resources for healthcare providers, assisting them in delivering high quality, patient-centric care.”

“We’re excited to partner with NYeC to support MIPS reporting across the state of New York,” said Sanjay Seth, M.D., HealthEC Executive Vice President. “Many providers are still confused about the MIPS program and are concerned about meeting all its requirements. HealthEC and NYeC will provide the technical expertise and practical know-how to support practices of all sizes in achieving their MIPS goals by successfully avoiding a penalty and qualifying for the bonus provisions in the QPP.”
