DunAn Microstaq (DMQ) Releases Its Newest Electronic Expansion Valve For Smaller Cooling Capacity Refrigeration Systems

AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 15, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- DunAn Microstaq, Inc. (DMQ) is introducing the Silicon Refrigeration Valve (SRV), an electronically controlled, fast responding, bi-directional expansion valve that can support air conditioners, heat pumps, and refrigeration applications up to 1 ton of refrigeration capacity. Selected as a Finalist in the Refrigeration Category of the 2019 AHR EXPO Innovation Awards, the SRV will be featured at the company show booth (C7743) at the 2019 AHR EXPO in Atlanta.

The SRV incorporates MEMS (MicroElectroMechanical Systems) technology that is manufactured using silicon (Si) semiconductor material. It has a three-layered silicon chip that actuates based on an electro-thermal principal. The SRV is a normally closed, single stage, proportional control valve which controls the refrigerant flow with very high precision.

The SRV is very compact, lightweight, and has a wide control range capability. It is compatible with all common refrigerants including hydrocarbons. Cost effective and simple electronic controls with voltage, PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) or current can be used to command the valve. Both open loop and closed loop control methodologies can be applied to control the valve due to the SRV’s very low hysteresis.

DunAn Microstaq, Inc. (DMQ) is a MEMS technology company dedicated to advancing flow control solutions primarily for the HVAC, refrigeration and automotive industries. Our pioneering work in MicroElectroMechanical Systems technology, understanding of customers’ needs and experiences translate into benefits that go far beyond flow control. DMQ solutions accelerate product development cycles, cut across design challenges, create warehousing efficiencies and reduce deployment time. With a core technology so versatile, DMQ can continue to package its devices along with the controls software for custom applications to fit a multitude of markets.
