Chicago, IL, May 01, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Virginia Unmanned Systems Center at CIT opened their Virginia Pavilion at AUVSIXPONENTIAL 2019 in Chicago yesterday with Honored Guest’s Governor Ralph Northam, Secretary of Commerce and Trade Brian Ball and the announcement of Virginia’s 2019 unmanned systems award winners.
While addressing the Virginia Pavilion Crowd at XPONENTIAL, which is the largest trade show for unmanned and autonomous systems, Governor Ralph Northam commented; “Virginia is excited about the opportunities that unmanned business is bringing to Virginia. We are delighted to be represented so well at this event.”
CIT, CEO Ed Albrigo Joined Governor Northam in presenting the Award for Innovation in Unmanned systems, Virginia’s Highest Honor for Unmanned Excellence, Leadership & Collaboration to York County Fire & Life Safety and the York - Poquoson Sheriff’s Office. An award for Humanitarian Assistance Using Unmanned Systems went to Virginia Company DroneUP for their assistance in the search for two Virginia Citizens lost in Amboy Crater National Natural Landmark in July 2018.
The Virginia Pavilion represents companies and communities from across the commonwealth including the Mid-Atlantic Aviation Partnership, Huntington Ingalls, ATA, Virginia Department of Aviation, Verizon, Dominion Energy and the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP).
