Showscan Entertainment Announces Coming Attractions; Creating Largest Thrill-Ride Library In Simulation Attractions Industry

LOS ANGELES, Calif. Nov. 16, 1998 (PRIMEZONE) -- Showscan Entertainment (OTC BB:SHOW) today announced the release of one new thrill ride film and the production of three additional films.

The company is releasing Dynamite Train today at the IAPPA trade show in Dallas, Texas. Dynamite Train, according to the company, "dares the audience to jump aboard a thundering runaway train, loaded with dynamite. There are only two outcomes: survival, or a one-way ride."

Showscan said that principal production has been completed on Desperado, which will take audiences on the tallest, fastest and longest rollercoaster ride in the western world. Desperado is based on the real thing - the Desperado rollercoaster at Buffalo Bill's Casino and Resort in Primm, Nevada. The Desperado achieves speeds of up to 90 miles per hour as it dips, drops, twists and turns above the Mojave Desert. Showscan's new thrill ride film reflects the action in every sense. Desperado is being produced by Peter Henton, formerly Showscan's Vice President of Production, and Dover Films, Inc., Mr. Henton's independent production company.

Street Fighter II Ride, which blasts the audience into the action packed world of the smash-hit, worldwide acclaimed video game, Street Fighter II, is a non-stop, adrenaline pumping thrill ride now in post production. It is being distributed by Showscan under licenses from Capricciosso Digital Contents Studio and CapCom.

Desperado and Street Fighter will be previewing at the IAPPA convention.

Hal Needham, the world renown action director and director of Showscan's highly successful Street Luge, is in pre-production with Hollywood Stunts, which he both directs and produces. Hollywood Stunts will take audiences inside Hollywood's movies, letting them join the death defying ranks of Hollywood stuntmen and experience first hand some of the world's greatest and most dangerous stunts.

Dennis Pope, President and Chief Executive Officer, said that with the addition of these four films, Showscan is creating the largest thrill ride library in the simulation industry. "Moreover," Mr. Pope said, "we not only intend to have the largest selection of thrill ride films, but the highest quality, as well."

Mr. Pope also pointed out that "Showscan has five coming attractions in development or pre-production:

     *MOTION MANIA - A high speed thrillology of heart thumping action,
      excitement and terror;

     *SCREAM AGAIN - A terrifying screamride through your worst frightmare;

     *SPACE WARRIOR - Abduction and competition in deadly futuristic games to
      save the planet;

     *SKY SLED - Ripping through the galaxy at maximum G forces on an out-of-
      control alien sports craft; and
