Associated Press Signs Agreement With PrimeZone Media Network

New York, Jan. 6, 1999 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Associated Press, the world's oldest and largest news organization, has entered into an agreement with PrimeZone Media Network of Los Angeles to include its content in the AP ALERT family of industry-specific news services and market it to corporations and government agencies.

PrimeZone Media Network, a national wire service, specializes in the distribution of full-text news releases highlighting activities of public companies and information related to initial public offerings (IPO's).

"We are very excited about our new relationship with the Associated Press. AP ALERT is a respected and well-utilized service and is an important addition to PrimeZone's news release distribution network," said Jeff Stacey, President and CFO of PrimeZone.

In addition to news releases from public and private companies, PrimeZone will supply AP with a daily package of IPO filings and registration, plus a weekly calendar of scheduled IPO's. Also included will be a unique weekly Aftermarket Report, tracking the performance of the 100 most recent public offerings. This information is provided by PrimeZone through an exclusive agreement with IPO Monitor, a Los Angeles-based service that tracks the initial public offering market. This package will be incorporated into AP's more than 20 ALERT wires, each containing news and information specific to a particular industry ranging from agriculture to finance.

"The addition of PrimeZone's content fills an important niche in AP ALERT coverage, supplying subscribers with relevant news on companies and rounding up increasingly popular coverage of the IPO market," said Chris Pederson, AP's Director of Content Business Development. "This addition extends AP's commitment to provide the corporate and government market with the most comprehensive coverage possible."

The Associated Press is the world's oldest and largest news gathering organization with 239 bureaus in 77 countries. More than one billion people a day worldwide see or hear news from AP's newspaper and broadcast members and subscribers. AP Information Services provides comprehensive industry specific real-time coverage as culled and sorted from the nearly 10,000 stories provided each day on AP's state, national and international wires.
