CHICAGO, Nov. 9, 1999 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Turnaround Management Association, the leading organization for professionals in the corporate renewal industry, has inducted its slate of officers for 1999-2000, headed by new President Melanie Rovner Cohen.
TMA President Melanie Rovner Cohen is Partner and Chair of the Institutional Lending, Workouts and Insolvency Department of the Chicago-based international law firm Altheimer & Gray. Ms. Cohen, a long-term member of the TMA Board of Directors, has served in various capacities for the association including director and past president of TMA's Chicago/Midwest chapter.
She has been an instructor at DePaul University College of Law and The John Marshall Law School, teaching courses on secured transactions, real estate and debtor-creditor law, and is also a frequent panelist, speaker and author. Ms.Cohen is a magna cum laude graduate of DePaul University College of Law and received her B.A. cum laude in Economics from Brandeis University. She was named a fellow of Brandeis University in 1991 and serves on the Board of Directors of the Bankruptcy Arbitration and Mediation Services.
David L. Auchterlonie, Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP), was inducted as TMA Chairman. Mr. Auchterlonie, who served as TMA President during the 1998-1999 term, is Chief Executive Officer of The Scotland Group, Inc. of Newport Beach, Calif.

The new slate of officers was inducted at TMA's 1999 Annual Conference October 22-26 in San Francisco. The Turnaround Management Association is a 3,600 member, non-profit association for professionals in the corporate renewal and reorganization industry.
