BELLEVUE, Wash., Feb. 22, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) -- Positioning the company for growth in 2000, Sonic Systems Corporation of Delaware (NQB:ZSON) announced today the appointments of new officers and directors. Appointed to the board of directors were Tom Dodd, Siavash Vojdani and Sonic System's founder, Mark Godsy.
Mark Godsy has also been appointed to the positions of Chairman and CEO of Sonic Systems Corporation (Delaware) and Chairman and Director of Sonic Systems Corporation (British Columbia). Mr. Godsy is an experienced entrepreneur working in the areas of corporate development and venture capital. He practiced law for approximately five years before entering business and co-founded two successful companies, ID Biomedical Corporation and Angiotech Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (both leading Canadian biotechnology firms). Mr. Godsy's responsibilities included building executive management teams, coordinating corporate finance activities and strategic positioning. Mr. Godsy is a graduate of the University of British Columbia and received his law degree from McGill University. He is currently a member of the Law Society of British Columbia.
Tom Dodd was also appointed to the positions of President and COO of Sonic Systems Corporation (Delaware), and to the positions of President, Director and CEO of Sonic Systems Corporation (British Columbia). Mr. Dodd's technology career covers over 25 years, with experience as an end user, OEM, consultant and manufacturer, in roles ranging from field technical support to executive management. Most recently, Mr. Dodd was President and CEO of Campbell Technologies (the owner of an Internet company called Imaginet) and Executive Vice President of Imaginet. For 12 years before joining Campbell / Imaginet, Mr. Dodd played a key role at Dynapro Systems Inc., one of Western Canada's most successful and fastest growing technology firms. For the last four years of that time (to mid 1996), he was the chief architect of Dynapro's diversification program, including two US acquisitions and building an international sales and marketing organization, helping Dynapro grow to over 450 employees and $75 million (CDN) in sales.
Siavash Vojdani has also assumed the newly created position of Vice President of Corporate Development with Sonic Systems Corporation (Delaware). Dr. Vojdani has over 25 years in sales and marketing as well as senior management experience in the high tech industry in North America, Europe and Asia. Over the past six years he has been exclusively engaged in setting up and managing sales distribution channels on a global scale. Prior to joining Sonic Systems, he was VP Sales and Marketing at Dynapro Systems Inc., a market leader in computer operator interfaces and CEO of Offshore Systems, which is engaged in the manufacturing of electronic chart systems for navigation. From 1979 to 1989, Dr. Vojdani worked with AEG, a German multinational corporation with 1989 sales of U.S. $12 billion. Dr. Vojdani has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College of Science and Technology, London University.
Mr. Godsy and Mr. Dodd fill the vacancies created by the resignation of William Brogdon from his executive positions and from the board of directors of Sonic Systems Corporation (Delaware) and Sonic Systems Corporation (British Columbia).
Bryan Wilson also resigned from the board of directors. However, Mr. Wilson will continue as Secretary of Sonic Systems Corporation (Delaware) and CFO and Director of Sonic Systems Corporation (British Columbia).
Along with these appointments, incentive stock options have been granted at approximately $2.06 for both officers and directors.
