TITUSVILLE, Fla , March 23, 2000 (PRIMEZONE) -- Interactive HealthCare, LLC, an innovative new eHealth content, eCommerce and service provider, began operations on January 17, 2000, in the Florida-NASA Business Incubation Center (FNBIC). Interactive HealthCare is developing and will commercialize a suite of websites targeted to consumers with specific or prescribed nutritional requirements due to acute and chronic medical conditions. The first four conditions addressed include hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and gastrointestinal diseases. The website will be expanded in the future to include additional medical conditions. IAHC plans to offer three levels of service, a general website accessible by non-subscribers, a personalized site for subscribers and a personalized site for subscriber's medical professionals. IAHC's mission is to become the premier consumer resource for nutritional management of medical conditions through the development of an interactive Internet resource that provides personalized information, service and on-line monitoring and tracking capability, benefiting both the patient and the medical professional.
The subscriber's personalized page will offer a comprehensive array of interactive tools that will educate, empower and enable the patient to take a more active, responsible role in their own therapy, -, recovery, well-being and longevity. The subscriber's personalized site will provide a daily diet diary, a customized food plan with menus and shopping lists, the ability to shop online for groceries and supplies, manufacturer provided and sponsored product information, training and education for self-administered therapies, medical news relative to the patient's condition, community chatlines, personal assessment calculators and tools, an interactive Q&A with qualified nutritional and medical professionals, as well as chats, lectures and videos with leading experts in the nutritional and medical fields. This personalized information resource, emotional support, monitoring, feedback, and easy access to physical items required to manage the disease will make it easier for the patient to understand, accept and comply with their treatment.
The medical professional's personalized page will provide a tool to monitor and track a patient's compliance with their prescribed regimens. The patient can update a daily diet/therapy/activity diary, prescriptions taken, physiological measurements (blood glucose, blood pressure, weight and others) and other lifestyle activities. The medical professional can then monitor these on a real time basis, or receive periodic standard or customized reports. The monitoring function will allow for exception reporting and flag the record of patients who fall outside of their prescribed regimen. The system will also enable communication between the medical professional and patient, facilitating more responsive, more efficient care and benefiting both the patient and medical professional.
