Nokia and Norweb Telecom are to co-operate on the development of WAP services for the UK corporate market with the view to deploying full commercial services later this year. The deal, which includes System Integration and consultancy will enable Norweb Telecom to create and test wireless applications.
Norweb Telecom is trialling its first WAP application from Time System of Denmark, an application particularly suited to Norweb Telecom's customer base where time and project management are increasingly important for small to medium size enterprises (SMEs). This will be NorwebTelecom's first venture in to mobile services, after having acquired a mobile service provider (MSP) Intercell earlier this year.
