Lowestfare.com Announces Revolutionary Improvement in Shopping for Online Travel

Steve Druckman Promoted to Vice President of Consumer Relationship Management

NEW YORK, Feb. 28, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Lowestfare.com announced today that the company is taking one-to-one Consumer Relationship Management (CRM) to the next level. At the same time, the company announced that Steve Druckman has been promoted to Vice President of CRM, and will be responsible for completing the roll-out of one of the most advanced relationship applications in the e-commerce travel space.

"Improving the consumer experience is the focus we're taking in every aspect of developing our CRM strategy. We aim to provide relevant and customized content and customer offers based on consumer preferences. We feel passionately that differentiating how we handle each person on an individual basis is critical to adding value to their travel research and purchase experience," stated Ken Swanton, Lowestfare.com CEO.

"Lowestfare.com is clearly ahead of the curve in their use of analytical capabilities for one-to-one marketing, and we are pleased to be partnering with them in their development of this leading-edge solution," said Roger Travis, Director of North American Operations, Sybase Business Intelligence Division. "Their planning and investment to improve the consumer experience has culminated in a tool that is better than any other being used on the Internet today. Selling travel is the perfect product to maximize the consumer benefits of using a data warehouse like Lowestfare.com has built."

"Lowestfare.com spent the greater portion of the last year investing in and building a data warehouse with data mining capabilities, which was rolled out early this year after significant testing and modeling," Swanton said. "We partnered with Sybase, Oracle, Microstrategy and Informatica to develop one of the most potent customer databases in the e-commerce travel space. Druckman spearheaded this effort and will continue to build capabilities to deliver a personalized shopping experience," he added.

Druckman joined Lowestfare.com one year ago as the Senior Director of Business Development, bringing with him six years of direct marketing experience. At American Express Travel Related Services Co., Druckman held increasingly responsible positions in marketing for four years. His prior experience includes two years as a senior consultant at Andersen Consulting with emphasis on marketing clients.
