OSRA develops tax compliance, general ledger and payroll software to professional tax advisers and small and medium sized enterprises. The company distributes its products through the Internet, CD-ROM's, and Intranets to more than 15,000 users. OSRA is headquartered in Torino and employs some 150 people. The acquisition of OSRA is the third acquisition in a row of specialized Italian software companies. Last year Wolters Kluwer acquired OA Sistemi (workflow software tools for legal professionals) and Pragma (tax and financial software for small and medium sized companies). The companies will be brought together into one software business unit of which also the software operations of Wolters Kluwer's existing business unit IPSOA will be part. In combination with the publishing activities of IPSOA, Wolters Kluwer will be leading as a provider of 'must have' information and software to professional users in tax, legal and HR areas.
