Version 1.6 represents the company's fourth upgrade of deeper content, useful features and increased functionality since its launch last October. Most of the upgrades were at the suggestion of e-Law.com's almost 8,000 users who have viewed more than 400,000 N.Y. Supreme Court cases since year end.

N.Y. County Clerk File Added
Because the case data is provided to e-Law.com directly from the NY State Uniform Court System, unless and until a party to the lawsuit requests the intervention of a judicial officer, the case is not entered into the court's database, except in N.Y. County.
"This anomaly prevented users from viewing case details or setting up an e-Watch alert until the RJI was filed," explained Krivitzky. "Now, within hours of the complaint being filed at 60 Centre Street, all N.Y. County cases are available to all e-Law.com users. They can even use our e-Copy service to obtain a copy of that complaint, or any other filed document, including decisions and orders."
Flat Fee Pricing, Monthly Billing and Pre-Paid Discounts
While most of e-Law.com's features are free to all registered users, many value-added services are available to improve a user's productivity, saving both time and money. To better match the back office and cash flow needs of its predominantly law firm subscriber base, e-Law.com has introduced both flat-fee pricing and monthly billing for these value-added e-services.
e-Watch users, who register a case and receive e-mail or fax alerts when a new development has occurred, can receive unlimited notices for the life of any case for as low as $28. This is a one-time flat-fee price that is easily tracked as a client disbursement. Optionally, the case can be set up on e-Watch for $4.95 for unlimited alerts, invoiced monthly until the user removes it from their e-Watch list. Users may also use credit cards to make payments and pre-payments, gaining up to 30% discounts on e-Law.com's e-services as well as obtaining valuable credit card points and miles.
FREE Secondary Alerts and Faxes
Initially released in version 1.5, and improved in 1.6, e-Watch subscribers may copy up to five additional individuals for any case on e-Watch for free. This means clients, claims managers, partners, associates and docket clerks can be in real-time sync with the primary e-Law.com subscriber, without the need to forward messages or to draft cover memos. If e-mail access is inconvenient or unavailable to a recipient, fax alerts are now an available option at a nominal surcharge.
