GARDEN GROVE, Calif., Sept. 4, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- DataLogic International, Inc. (OTCBB:DLGI) today announced that it is currently providing Eli Lilly & Company (NYSE:LLY) in Indianapolis with support for SAS software programming and clinical trials system development.
Eli Lilly is one of the world's leading pharmaceutical corporations with annual revenues of over $11 billion and 35,000 employees. Eli Lilly now joins DataLogic's already significant healthcare/pharmaceutical customer base, with current and past projects from Amgen, Alcon Laboratories, Pharmaceutical Product Development (PPD) and Prudential Healthcare.
The relationship with Eli Lilly is the direct result of a multi-year sub-contracting agreement that DataLogic has signed with Volt Technical Services to provide Volt with SAS/clinical trials contract programming services. The services DataLogic is providing to Eli Lilly are through its contract with Volt Technical Services. The contract has been in place for several years and DataLogic is providing its services for Eli Lilly on an ongoing basis.
DataLogic recently announced that it had increased its sales/marketing efforts in order to gain market share, capitalizing on its already strong presence in the growing area of biotechnology and the pharmaceutical market. Most recently these projects have sprung from small CROs (contract research organizations) to the world's largest pharmaceutical companies. As part of its ongoing customer acquisition efforts, DataLogic has also partnered with several IT consulting/biostatistical programming firms to assist and deploy consultants for onsite and outsourcing support.
