Top Executive from Young/Rubicam, One of the World's Largest Marketing Companies, Joins Media and Entertainment.com's Board of Directors

Christopher Laurance, Managing Director from Young/Rubicam to Assist and Direct Company's Expansion


LAS VEGAS, Oct. 24, 2001 (PRIMEZONE) -- Media and Entertainment.com Inc. (OTCBB:MEDE), a rapidly growing leader in communications services for the entertainment industry, announced that it has appointed Christopher Laurance, a Managing Director from Young/Rubicam, one of the world's largest marketing companies, to its Board of Directors. At Young/Rubicam, Mr. Laurance oversaw the company's key accounts, which included Sony Corp. (NYSE:SNE), as well as Ford Motor Company's (NYSE:F) Lincoln, Mercury, Jaguar and Land Rover lines. Laurance will immediately assume responsibility for directing and shaping the development of Media and Entertainment.com's compensation committee.

Besides being the Managing Director of the Irvine office, Mr. Laurance was additionally the Interactive Chairman of North America for Young/Rubicam. Prior, Mr. Laurance was a Partner at MarchFIRST for Mazda North American Operations. In this role, he was responsible for managing all digital activities, including all activities on www.mazdausa.com, Mazda Dealers Online, Mazda's extranet "Mazda Town" and all dealer extranets.

Before MarchFIRST, Mr. Laurance was FedEx (NYSE:FDX) Team Manager at OnlineFocus, where his team developed the first new interface on www.fedex.com in four years, the Global Branding site, the first FedEx Freight marketing site, the Global Account extranet, FedEx Service Guide site, the holding company's FDX Website, the FDX Supply Chain Extranet and the FDX investor relations site.

Mr. Laurance's background also includes a series of entrepreneurial ventures. He was President of Cybernaut Records, a start-up online record label that marketed CDs at wholesale prices. He was the owner of Just-e, an electronics solution provider for Iiyama Monitors, Imagine Media, Fiber and Wireless, Toshiba, AMD, AMF, Direct Stock Market, Comdex, CeBite and PcExpo. Additionally, Mr. Laurance was the COO for IMA Studios, where he produced CD-ROMs tied to Hollywood film releases.
