SEBASTOPOL, Calif., Jan. 17, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Electric scooter pioneer ZAP (Nasdaq:ZAPP) today announced it has signed a cooperative marketing agreement with eMOTORS of San Rafael, California.
An electric vehicle distributor, eMOTORS owns local distribution rights for the Sparrow, a unique, three-wheeled electric vehicle manufactured by Corbin Motors. The single-occupancy Sparrow falls under a motorcycle classification. Unlike a normal motorcycle, the Sparrow is fully enclosed for protection from the elements. Capable of traveling up to 70 MPH, the Sparrow is freeway-legal and can even travel in California carpool lanes. See one at http://www.zapworld.com/sparrow.htm.
Under the new partnership, ZAP will be assisting eMOTORS in the marketing of the Sparrow. In turn, eMOTORS will be offering ZAP electric scooters, bicycles and other vehicles. ZAP is relocating its holiday outlet store in San Rafael to the eMOTORS location and eMOTORS will be handling local service for ZAP.
"eMOTORS is excited to team up with ZAP," said eMOTORS owner Dr. Andrew Carver. "When I saw the interest generated by ZAP's holiday outlet store in just a few weeks, I was convinced that ZAP's scooters, bikes and other vehicles would sell well alongside the Sparrow. Likewise, the Sparrow is so fast and fun, I believe many ZAP customers would be ready to step up to a Sparrow for their longer commutes."
eMOTORS is located at 777 Grand Avenue in San Rafael, California. Test rides of the Sparrow are available to prospective buyers in San Rafael and Sebastopol. For more information, visit http://www.zapworld.com or call 1-800-251-4555.
