BROMMA, Sweden, Feb. 5, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- The IT integrator Dimension has received an order from Eurpolitan Vodafone to supply all IT infrastructure for a new web platform. The order, which includes a three-year support and maintenance agreement, is valued at approximately SEK 4 million.
Europolitan Vodafone is one of Sweden's leading mobile telecom operators as well as one of the country's 3G operators. It offers a wide range of telecommunication services, which already includes a number of mobile Internet services.
For the new technical web platform it is building, Europolitan Vodafone gave the job of designing, implementing and supplying the solution to Dimension, which has extensive experience in the integration and commissioning of business-critical server solutions for the Internet. The project also includes a three-year support and maintenance agreement for the installed solution.
"Recently we have noticed slightly higher activity from telecom operators, which this agreement is an example of," says Sven Uthorn, Managing Director of Dimension. "We are anticipating major potential in the area of IT infrastructure for the mobile Internet. The order from Europolitan Vodafone is challenging, since they place extremely high demands on the performance of their IT solutions.
