ESPOO, Finland, March 8, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Edita Publishing and TietoEnator have signed a co-operation agreement on the distribution of Edilex, Edita's legislation information service through TietoEnator's ePortti service interface. The first service to be introduced to ePortti is the legal service that is available free of charge until 24.3.2002. The intention is to introduce other electronic service products by Edita to ePortti in the future.
ePortti is a portal developed by the Tietopalvelut (Information Services) Business Unit of TietoEnator, where the producers of content and services can bring their services for distribution to end users. The end user can access all services at ePortti using a single sign-on and on the basis of a single agreement, irrespective of the producer of the service.
Edilex is a continuously updated legal information service that gathers all legal information published in Finland under one address. The content of the service consists of up-to-date information, such as databases on legislation, agreements between states, EU legislation and judicial practices. The information also includes government bills, committee reports, weekly news bulletins from the Parliament and the Council of State, as well as plenty of other official information. In addition to the databases, the service contains articles written by experts, newsgroups, an event calendar, information about recent publications, templates for official documents, links, as well as pages designed for students. In the news service, experts of different fields follow the topical events of their particular fields, such as legislative initiatives and judicial practices. The user can choose to have the news headlines sent directly to his/her e-mailbox.
