SAN JOSE, Calif., March 15, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- WJ Communications, Inc (Nasdaq:WJCI), a leading designer and supplier of high-performance RF semiconductors for equipment manufacturers, today announced that the AH201, a 1 Watt, high linearity GaAs MMIC amplifier, is now available for samples with production volume being available in Q2-2002. The product will be displayed at the upcoming CTIA trade show in Orlando, FL in the WJ Communications booth no. 5551.
"The availability of the AH201 provides the system designers outstanding dynamic range for their high power requirements," stated Ron Buswell, Senior Vice President, Business Operations. "The AH201 is the latest in a series of medium and high power amplifiers. WJ will continue to provide a variety of new products to meet the challenging demands of the customers in the RF semiconductor world."
Technology Overview
The AH201 operates from a single supply voltage and is internally matched to make it ideal for both narrow band and broadband applications. The amplifier can be used in the GSM, CDMA, TDMA, UMTS and CATV applications to produce +47 dBm of IP3 performance. Exceptional thermal design is achieved through the LPCC 6 x 6 mm surface-mount package to maintain MTBF values of over 100 years at mounting temperatures of up to +85 degrees C. A feature of the AH201 is +30 dBm of compressed power at P1dB. Under complex modulation, the AH201's high linearity performance allows it to produce usable signals at +22 dBm of output power while meeting stringent W-CDMA (ACLR) specifications.
