STOCKHOLM, Sweden, April 16, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- The New Wave Group has signed a contract for IBS' Virtual Enterprise and ASW software. The deal includes installations in some 30 companies in 11 European countries. The total order value is approximately SEK 16 million, which includes collaborative commerce, order fulfillment, inventory control, logistics, customer relations management, financials, business analysis and decision support, as well as facilities management. New Wave, a leading supplier of, among other things, profile clothing, has experienced a rapid growth in sales over the last few years. In 2001, their annual revenue was approximately SEK 1.3 billion.
The system for Internet commerce is based on IBS' new Virtual Enterprise software. The New Wave Group can thereby offer their retailers a marketplace, where the retailers' customers can place orders for the products that the different companies within the Group make available. Another type of Internet market will also be developed, for retailers who have committed themselves to marketing a larger customer company's products. This means that a number of virtual companies or stores can be created, with an individual range of products and specific business logic. In addition, IBS' ASW business software will be used for distribution, customer relations management, supply chain management and financials.
At IBS' facilities management plant in Sweden, IBS will handle a central iSeries 400 server as well as an Internet server. In Sweden, communication will go via leased lines, whereas the Group's European subsidiaries will link up via the Internet.
"This is a very interesting order in an exciting market segment, and shows that IBS' Virtual Enterprise and ASW solutions are at the forefront," said Magnus Wastenson, VP Global Marketing for the IBS Group.
