BANGKOK, Thailand, April 24, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Thailand is getting ready to host the ASEAN Trade Fair (ATF) 2002 -- the first synergy towards world trade expansion among ten member countries of the Association of South East Asian Nations. The week-long event is taking place in Bangkok in October.
The ASEAN Trade Fair 2002 will be held from 14-20 October at the IMPACT Exhibition Center Muang Thong Thani in northern Bangkok. Trade days will run from the 14-17 October with the remaining 3 days open to the general public. The fair will combine trade exhibitions with discussions on trade and industrial cooperation while ten national pavilions form a section in which each member will showcase the nation's pride. Another section features various pavilions for exhibitions by the ASEAN Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI).
The Commercial Section Exhibitions meanwhile will display a wide variety of high quality products and services featuring six of the most successful industries which best reflects ASEAN's strength, namely Agricultural and Food industries since most of Asia are agriculture-based countries; the Automotive industry; Electronics/Electrical industries as ASEAN nations have become popular choices for factory and assembly sites; the Fashion industry, Home Fashion industry as well as Innovation and Supporting industries.
Fair activities will include the Business Forum which serves as a platform for a wide range of discussion topics with regards to trade and industrial cooperation; and also the ASEAN Night featuring a gala dinner and cultural performances from ASEAN member countries.
