GOTEBORG, Sweden, May 21, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- SKF has acquired 100% of the shares of the Dutch company Delta Consult B.V., headquartered in Kapelle with a satellite location in Heiloo. The company employs 93 people and provides high level life-cycle asset management, maintenance engineering and operational services, as well as maintenance related business process and information technology support.
Delta Consult's clients are found in the process, petrochemical, power generation, defence and government, transportation, waste management and public utilities industries. With annual sales of some EUR 7 million, Delta Consult will strengthen SKF's Reliability Systems business in providing its competencies in optimising plant asset efficiency.
"Delta Consult's approach to improving their customer's plant utilisation and asset life-cycle cost reduction is well proven, and accords with the expanding global offer of our Reliability Systems business. The industry segments they serve coincide with our priorities and their consultancy capabilities are especially important to our Integrated Maintenance Solutions concept," said Phil Knights, President of SKF Service Division.
This is the second acquisition made by SKF this year in support of its strategy to expand in the maintenance service market.
