STOCKHOLM, Sweden, June 10, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Stockholm, Sweden Intentia International AB (publ) (XSSE:INT B) today announce that Cardo Door AB signed an agreement for the implementation of Movex, Intentia's Java based enterprise system. The agreement will include all Cardo Door's current users in ten production facilities as well as in four spare parts centers in six countries. Movex will initially be implemented at Cardo Door's largest facility in Holland and will thereafter be successively be implemented to replace Cardo Door's existing solution globally. "We look forward to getting a fully integrated solution for all of our facilities around the world," Leif Torwaldsson, technical director at Cardo Doors, says. "The new, totally integrated business system will be the most important and most strategic component for further strengthening our competitiveness in the future."
Cardo Door, one of the world's largest manufacturers of industrial doors and Europe's leading supplier of docking equipment, signed an agreement today for the global implementation of Movex. Cardo Door is also a market leader when it comes to servicing these products and is one of Europe's largest manufacturers of garage doors for private homes. Cardo Door is a supplier of brands such as Crawford, Hafa, Faltec, Amber, Alsta, Allhabo, Normstahl, Henderson and CarIn. In 2001 Cardo Door had a turnover of about EUR 530 million.
According to the agreement, Cardo Door has undertaken to successively implement Movex for all current users in its production facilities and spare parts centers. "This is one of the biggest investments we have ever made in IT," LarsArne Lindvall, IT director at Cardo Door, explained. "That's why we were very careful in our analysis to determine which of the various potential suppliers could satisfy our needs, and which supplier had both the best product and the ability to support our strategic processes. We defined this as a prerequisite for being chosen to support us."
"According to our survey, Movex has the best functionality and technical structure," Lindvall continued. "It is clear in comparison with other systems that Movex is one of the world's most modern enterprise systems. The functionality level is very high, and with Java architecture we know that we have chosen a system that supports future development. There was no other supplier that could guarantee that!"
