Chef Tracey Hopkins and Wine Connoisseur Herbert Engelbert Join Forces for the Summer's Last Hurrah Wine Dinner


PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 28, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Chef Tracey Hopkins of Restaurant Associates at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and Herbert Engelbert, noted wine connoisseur, host the Summer's Last Hurrah Wine Dinner at The Museum Restaurant on Friday, September 13, at 5 p.m. In anticipation of the exhibition, Gifts to Grow On, Chef Tracey offers an early peek at the gifts of his new fall menu.

Chef Hopkins has created a spectacular menu for the Summer's Last Hurrah Wine Dinner. The dinner begins with an amuse bouche of Black-eyed Pea Cake and Pulled BBQ Pork; a Jumbo Lump Crab-Celeriac-Haricot Vert-Fennel Salad served with Chive Oil and Rough Mustard for the first course. The second course consists of Polenta Crusted Sea Scallops served with a Sweet Corn, Chanterelle and Heirloom Tomato Salad and a Saffron Butter Sauce.

For the third course, Chef Hopkins ushers in autumn with robust Grilled Squab served with Braised Beet Greens and Port Glazed Black Mission Figs. The final course is Blueberry-Peach Cobbler served with Tahitian Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and a Cinnamon Tuile. In addition, coffee and tea will be served with cookies, truffles and chocolates.

Herbert Engelbert, personally selected wines that are perfectly paired to the tantalizing flavors of Chef Hopkins' special selections. While each course is served, Englebert teaches techniques of tasting and explains the pairing of wine to cuisine. Summer's Last Hurrah Wine Dinner is $65 for members and $70 for non-members.
