Northrop Grumman to Provide IT Services for Louisiana Department of Social Services


HERNDON, Va., Sept. 3, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Louisiana Department of Social Services (DSS) has selected Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) to provide a broad range of information technology services to approximately 250 offices throughout the state, representing a further expansion of the company's information technology services to state agencies.

Northrop Grumman's Information Technology (IT) sector will provide the Louisiana DSS with PC desktop, server, application and network support services under a contract that has a potential value of $8.1 million over three years.

Northrop Grumman IT worked with the Louisiana Department of Economic Development to pair with local vendor, Diamond Data Systems, Inc., New Orleans, La., to support this engagement. Diamond Data Systems will be responsible for system administration and desktop support. Eighteen new employees from both companies will be hired to support this contract.

Northrop Grumman IT will provide on-site support to DSS primarily in Baton Rouge, and at offices in Lafayette, Shreveport and New Orleans, La.
