COPENHAGEN, Denmark, Sept. 5, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Koebenhavns Lufthavne A/S: in August 2002, the total number of passengers shows a decrease of 2.8% compared to the same month in 2001. The development for the first eight months of 2002 shows a decrease of 1.2% compared to the same period last year.
In the month of August 2002 the number of international scheduled passengers decreased by 1.4%. However, the accumulated figure of the first eight months of 2002 shows that international scheduled passengers has increased by 1.1% compared to the same period last year.
In August 2002 the number of international charter passengers decreased by 3.1%. The accumulated figure of the first eight months of 2002 shows that international charter passengers has decreased by 14.8% compared to 2001.
In the month of August 2002 the number of domestic passengers decreased by 13.8%. The accumulated figure of the first eight months of 2002 shows that domestic passengers has decreased by 9.4% compared to the same period last year.
The total number of takeoffs and landings in August 2002 has decreased by 9.4%, while the tonnage shows a decrease by 7.5%. The accumulated figure of the first eight months of 2002 shows that takeoffs and landings decreased by 10.2% while the tonnage decreased by 6.7%.
