- For the first nine months operating profit, before amortization of goodwill and items affecting comparability, was SEK 131 M (251). Corresponding profit for the third quarter was SEK 33 M (-24). - After net financial items, a loss of SEK 568 M (-108) was reported. Goodwill write-downs of SEK 515 M (0) were charged against earlier periods of 2002. - Sales totaled SEK 5,220 M (9,830) during the first nine months and SEK 1,475 M (2,745) during the third quarter. For core operations, sales amounted to SEK 5,190 M (5,425) during the entire period and SEK 1,475 M (1,565) during the third quarter. - As a result of continued weak market conditions, additional cost-cutting measures were initiated during the third quarter. It is estimated that these measures will affect slightly more than 400 employees. A cost of SEK 125 M for these activities was charged against third-quarter earnings in the form of an item affecting comparability. - WM-data is continuing to strengthen its position in the Nordic market for outsourcing where reliability and documented delivery capacity are key success factors. Orders received during the quarter included a new contract with Volvo Car Corporation, worth SEK 250 M over a three-year period. - It is estimated that full-year profit for 2002, before tax, but after reversal of items affecting comparability and the write-down of goodwill, will be lower than the corresponding earnings reported for 2001 (SEK 258 M).
