Nordisk Renting Acquires Headquarters and Freight Terminal from DFDS Transport for MEUR 10.5


STOCKHOLM, Sweden, November 13, 2002 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nordisk Renting Oy has acquired the headquarters of DFDS Transport Ltd. and its adjacent freight terminal in Vantaa outside of Helsinki for a total of EUR 10.5 million, the equivalent of almost SEK 100 million. In conjunction with the acquisition, an 18-year lease was signed between the parties. The sale is in line with the DFDS Transport Group's strategy of not tying up capital in properties, but rather creating economic and financial resources for growth.

DFDS Transport Ltd. is a subsidiary of the Danish transport and logistics group DFDS Transport Group A/S. The Group, with a turnover of EUR 2.37 billion (2001) and over 10,000 employees, has a leading position on the Scandinavian market and is a major player in Europe.

The acquired property comprises a total leasable area of approximately 10,000 square metres, of which approximately 6,300 square metres consists of a warehouse/freight terminal and the remainder office premises. The property was built two years ago and is in very good condition. It has a strategic location by Ring 3, near the main arteries around Helsinki and the airport in Vantaa, which makes it very suitable as a freight terminal for fast reloading.

Nordisk Renting already owns a warehouse and logistics facility in Vantaa with DFDS Transport Ltd. as the tenant. Both properties are strategically important to DFDS Transport Ltd. as it regards both location and long-term significance to the company.
