STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Jan. 8, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Skanska is selling two properties in Trollhattan, Sweden. The purchase price is SEK 180 M, and Skanska's gain on the sale amounts to SEK 130 M. The purchaser is Erik Selin, a property owner in western Sweden.
The capital gain on the sale is reported in the fourth quarter of 2002 and the purchaser plans to take possession during the first quarter of 2003.
Combined, the two properties, Oden 7 and Oden 8, make up the Oden commercial complex in central Trollhattan. The center comprises a total of approximately 17,000 square meters of store and office premises, together with the attached parking area. The tenants include Ahlens, H&M, Lindex and Kappahl among others.
Skanska purchased Oden 8 in the mid-1970s, since then the property has gradually been upgraded. Oden 7 was acquired in 2000 and underwent extensive renovation. Currently, the Oden commercial center is virtually fully leased.
Skanska Project Development Sweden, one of the market leaders in Sweden, currently has ongoing projects totaling approximately 100,000 square meters, mainly comprising office properties in Sweden, including the Oresund region. Around 81 percent of the project portfolio is currently leased.
