One More Teenage Queen -- The story of one teen and her search to save her world

CLOVIS, N.M., February 12, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Normalcy is an attribute most teenagers strive to achieve. In their search to fit in, they forget that it is their different characteristics that make them unique individuals. Pop quizzes, a bad hair day and blemishes are often catastrophes that devastate most normal teenagers. However for Annaleia Rodan, those affairs pale in comparison to the bombshell she receives on high school graduation night. Ardyth Elms' new book entitled Return of the Queen (now available through 1stBooks Library) presents Annaleia's story.

Raised by her uncle from a tender age, Annaleia had always assumed she was rather normal until her uncle hits her with startling news. She is a queen! To top it all off, it is time for her to return and take over the Karwenian throne, a world of "magic, elves and dragons."

Thirteen years earlier (when she was only a princess), her castle was invaded and her family killed. Her uncle managed to smuggle her out, bringing her to planet Earth. Now, as a young woman she must gather her strength in order to save her people, who have been tortured and starved by the same evil man who killed her family. In the middle of all the hardships of growing up, Annaleia must endure many trials and tribulations on her own as she struggles to reclaim her world.

A current resident of Clovis, N.M., Elms has had a diverse professional background. Though she began life in the medical field, she soon tired and joined a traveling carnival, where she worked for several years. Although she grew up in New Mexico, Elms also spent many years living in California, where she and her late husband raised their son after her carnival stint. After the death of her husband, she returned to the medical field. She went back to school and received her Psychiatric Technician license, working in the state mental hospital for the criminally insane until retirement in 2001. She then moved back to her native New Mexico (along with her dog, Missy) to live closer to her son and her parents.

Although Return of the Queen is her first published book, several others are in the production process including a sequel entitled Revenge of the King.
