HERNDON, Va., Feb. 13, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has been awarded a contract to provide training support for the U.S. Army Management Staff College, Fort Belvoir, Va., with a focus on anti-terrorism, force protection (ATFP) and crisis management at Army installations. This training allows installation commanders to practice their responses and interactions with internal and external civilian agencies.
Northrop Grumman's Information Technology (IT) staff will conduct training seminars and simulation-supported exercises that present a terrorist threat scenario to Army installations throughout the U.S. and abroad. In addition to the training exercises, Northrop Grumman IT will develop a CD-ROM that augments the training effort and provides training to smaller installations.
"Northrop Grumman IT has broad experience with simulation training programs for the Department of Defense and Department of State," said Gregg Donley, president, Technical Services, Northrop Grumman IT. "We successfully performed the initial nine-month ATFP training effort in 2001."
The contract is valued at $14.5 million over four years to Northrop Grumman's IT sector.
Northrop Grumman IT has teamed with Cubic Applications, Inc., Lacey, Wash. Work on the program will be performed at Northrop Grumman IT's Leavenworth, Kansas, facility.
