TORONTO, March 24, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- On March 21, 2003, a class action was filed in Toronto in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice against 3COM Corporation ("3COM"), an American corporation with its headquarters in Santa Clara, California. The plaintiff is a former employee of 3COM.
The plaintiff will be requesting court certification of a class that includes all persons who were: (a) formerly employed by LANSource Technologies Inc. ("Lansource") prior to December 17, 1999; and (b) who are former employees of 3COM and whose employment was terminated by 3COM at any time on or after December 17, 1999. The statement of claim alleges breach of contract arising out of 3COM's alleged failure to make payment of bonuses allegedly owing to its former employees.
The plaintiff is bringing this action under the Class Proceedings Act, 1992.
The claim, which has yet to be proven in court, states that the defendant has not paid all of the promised amounts owing under the written employment agreements with the employees. The plaintiff alleges that this constitutes a breach of his contract with the defendant.
