STOCKHOLM, Sweden, April 08, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Through its subsidiary company Gunnebo Protection, the international security group Gunnebo, has entered into a three-year general agreement with the Swedish Civil Aviation Administration (SLV) for the supply of security fencing and gates, including assembly and installation, for Arlanda and Bromma airports.
The security fencing to be installed is Gunnebo Secure, a welded fencing manufactured by Gunnebo Perimeter Protection's German subsidiary, Wego. In addition to satisfying security requirements based on coming new EU standards, aesthetic considerations also played a part in the choice of Gunnebo Secure.
There is also an option to extend the agreement, which is one aspect of SLV's drive to promote safer travel. Eventually, all of SLV's nineteen airports will be upgraded to meet the EU's new norms.
"We are well positioned to meet any increase in demand, from not only Swedish but also other European airports, when the new EU norms come into effect, which is expected this summer," said Sven Boethius, divisional manager Gunnebo Perimeter Protection.
