New Major Road Maintenance Assignment for Scandiaconsult

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, April 9, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Scandiaconsult has again been commissioned by the Hungarian Road Administration for three years to make an inventory of the maintenance requirements of Hungarian roads. The contract is valued at more than SEK 10 million.

Scandiaconsult's unit for road maintenance, RST Sweden, is one of the leading players in Europe for surveying the condition of roads. The surveys are conducted with advanced laser equipment fitted on special vehicles. The measurements obtained form a good basis on which to plan and prioritise maintenance work.

The work will be started on May 1, 2003 and will thereafter be conducted annually from April to October. This contract strengthens Scandiaconsult's position as one of Europe's leading consultants for planning operation and maintenance of road networks. RST Sweden has been conducting qualified surveys in several European countries since the mid 1980s.

"We're pleased to have been entrusted with this assignment again by the Hungarian Road Administration. The high technical content combined with extensive experience and good co-operation have been decisive factors in the renewal of the contract. The Hungarian assignment is strategically important for our focus on international operations," said Hakan Rask of RST Sweden.
